The 18th China Changchun International Sculpture Symposium announces its final selected proposals

The 18th China Changchun International Sculpture Symposium began its open call on February. Till the deadline on April 15th,  the symposium has received 1732 proposals from 634 sculptors of 73 countries and regions all over the world . Meanwhile, the symposium has also specially invited 460 proposals and ready works from 108 sculptors from home and abroad , which would also be reviewed and evaluated by the experts.

On April 27th, the organizing committee of the symposium invites Mr Song Chunhua, former vice minister of the Ministry of Construction , consultant of China Sculpture Institute, Mr Wei Xiaoming, professor of Academy of Art & Design, Tschinghua University, doctoral tutor, Mr Huo Boyang, professor of the department of contemporary art, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, vice president of China Sculpture Institute, Mr Wang Zhigang, chair of the department of sculpture, Xi’án Academy of Fine Arts, and Mr Liu Tianfu, president of Changchun Sculpture Institute to constitute the judge panel, where Mr Song Chunhua was selected as the team leader. After the experts’ careful review, 121 pieces ( group) sculpture proposals were recommended to go for the second round of selection. The symposium has solicited opinions from Changchun citizens from May 5th to May 15th.  After comprehensive assessments of the experts’ recommendation and the citizens’ opinions, the organizing committee has confirmed 82 pieces (group) of proposals as the final selected proposals.

     The organizing committee also specially invites sculpture works from three judges, Mr Wei Xiaoming, Mr Wang Zhigang, and Mr Huo Boyang, to participate in the symposium.
